Diurnal changes in the stomatal, mesophyll, and biochemical limitations of photosynthesis in well-watered greenhouse-grown strawberries

چکیده

The diurnal variations in the factors of photosynthesis reduction under well-watered greenhouse conditions remain poorly understood. We conducted measurements gas exchange and chlorophyll fluorescence strawberries (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.) for three sunny days. Quantitative limitation analysis was also to investigate photosynthetic limitations [stomatal (SL), mesophyll (MCL), biochemical (BL)]. Under conditions, a observed, respective exhibited different changes based on environmental stress severity. main SL, varying between 11.3 27.1% around midday, whereas MCL BL were 4.3-14.2% 1.7-8.5%, respectively, relatively moderate conditions. However, both SL (11.2-34.2%) (4.8-26.4%) predominantly limited severe suggesting that stomatal closure decline conductance not negligible strong stress, even

Sustained enhancement of photosynthesis in coffee trees grown under free-air CO2 enrichment conditions: disentangling the contributions of stomatal, mesophyll, and biochemical limitations

Coffee (Coffea spp.), a globally traded commodity, is a slow-growing tropical tree species that displays an improved photosynthetic performance when grown under elevated atmospheric CO2 concentrations ([CO2]). To investigate the mechanisms underlying this response, two commercial coffee cultivars (Catuaí and Obatã) were grown using the first free-air CO2 enrichment (FACE) facility in Latin Amer...

Stomatal and mesophyll limitations of photosynthesis in black spruce seedlings during multiple cycles of drought.

Container-grown black spruce (Picea mariana (Mill.) B.S.P.) seedlings were planted in trays containing a sand and peat mixture, and placed in a climate-controlled greenhouse. One group of seedlings was kept well-watered, and another group was subjected to three cycles of drought. Gas exchange analysis showed that mesophyll photosynthetic function was largely unimpaired by drought. In contrast, ...

Potential Profits from Greenhouse-grown Organic Strawberries Are Greater than Conventional Greenhouse or Field-grown Strawberries in Florida

In Florida, 7,100 acres of fresh strawberries (Fragaria ×ananassa Duch.) were planted in fields during the 2003–04 growing season using polyethylene mulch raised beds and drip irrigation. Florida is the second largest fresh market strawberry-producing state behind California. Because Florida enters the market prior to California during the winter months, Florida strawberry value per pound excee...

Ontogenetic changes in stomatal and biochemical limitations to photosynthesis of two co-occurring Mediterranean oaks differing in leaf life span.

A quantitative analysis was applied to the stomatal and biochemical limitations to light-saturated net photosynthesis under optimal field conditions in mature trees and seedlings of the co-occurring evergreen oak, Quercus ilex L., and the deciduous oak, Q. faginea Lam. Stomatal limitation to photosynthesis, maximal Rubisco activity and electron transport rate were determined from assimilation v...

the analysis of the role of the speech acts theory in translating and dubbing hollywood films
